Welcome to Children's Ministries at FBC Milton. Our children's ministries seek to provide a safe and exciting environment allowing the children to experience the love of God each week through Bible stories and activities. Our ministries serve birth through 5th grade.
Our nursery is located adjacent to our coffee shop. We offer a security paging system and loving, experienced volunteers to share the love of Jesus with your children. We offer extended care for birth - 3 years of age during Sunday School and our morning worship service.
During our Sunday School, our Preschool Children (ages 4-K), meet in the lower level of Building B. After Sunday School, the children will remain there for Lil'K worship. After the morning worship service, you may pick up your child in Building B.
Our 1st - 5th Grade children meet in The Way. Their classrooms are decorated with beautifully painted murals depicting the life of Christ. We begin with Snacks in the Square, a fun time of fellowship, singing & snacks. We also have a children's library for your child's reading enjoyment.
At the conclusion of Sunday School, we ask that you meet your children in the sanctuary for Morning Worship. We offer a Children's Worship for boys and girls, 1st - 3rd grade. Children will be called our during the service and escorted to their special service by our adult volunteers. After the morning worship, you may pick up your child in The Way.
TeamKID (Kids In Discipleship) is a fun, high-energy, ministry that encourages kids to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him. All parts of TeamKID (Bible stories, Scripture memory, life application, missions, and recreation) connect to teach life lessons to kids.
What happens in a TeamKID meeting?
TeamKID is designed for children to do more than memorize Scripture. It helps children understand what the verses they memorize mean because all parts of the TeamKID meeting focuses on one Bible message. The games, Bible story, memory verse, missions, and conclusion all contribute to help children understand and apply God's Word to their lives.
A TeamKID meeting has six parts with each one flowing into the next to keep the pace moving with non-stop energy:
- WARM-UP is the opening activity that begins as soon as the first child arrives at TeamKID
- WORKOUT includes energized, interactive Bible study as children hear or experience a Bible story, learn the meaning of a Bible verse, apply Bible truths to their lives, sing, and pray.
- STRETCHING is when children work on learning the memory verse.
- REACH OUT uses either the missions DVD, missions activities, or mission action projects to teach children about missions around the world.
- THE TOURNAMENT is a time to run, play, and laugh with fun games and activities that reinforce the Bible study.
- COOL DOWN is the final few minutes of the meeting and includes refreshments and a review of what children have learned.
Worship Quest is the name of our Wednesday evening Children's Ministry Program. During the 5:30 - 7:00 pm time block, our children learn about missions and worship through fun, yet relevant, age-appropriate activities. At First Baptist, we place a high priority on teaching the next generation the things of the Lord. Worship Quest is an integral part of this training.
The Missions component includes Mission Friends for Preschoolers, GA's (Grils in Action) for girls in 1st - 5th grades, and RA's (Royal Ambassadors) for boys in 1st - 5th grades.
In Mission Friends, preschoolers will participate in activities and hear Bible stories that show them Jesus loves them and people all over the world. They will learn about missionaries and how they can be helpers, too.
This year's Girls in Action theme, "Meet Me in the City", will take the girls to some of the busiest places on earth to learn what missionaries are doing to share Jesus. The girls will participate in mission projects that allow them to share Jesus with their own communities.
"As a Royal Ambassador, I will do my best to become a well-informed, responsible follower of Christ." This is the R.A. Pledge that the boys put into action each week by participating in various mission projects. The boys also learn about the 10 virtues of an R.A. throughs tudying the Bible and memorizing scripture.
